When people think about Las Vegas it’s almost always just about the casinos and nightclubs, but there are actually many more aspects to the area that are worth knowing about. Below you’ll find a quick list of some of the main possibilities, along with a few others that might not be so obvious.
Casinos – Of course this is at the top of the list because Las Vegas is all about gambling, and the posh casinos are amazing destinations unto themselves.
Downtown Las Vegas – Once the heart of the gambling scene, Downtown had become neglected for a decade or two there, but now it’s making a comeback with a huge light show, affordable hotels, and trendy nightclubs.
Grand Canyon – It’s not exactly next door to Las Vegas, but it’s about as close as you’ll get without going specifically to the Canyon itself. Making a day trip or an overnight trip from Vegas is possible, or you can get a flight out of the Vegas airport that tours you right over the Canyon and then flies right back for an amazing adventure.
Hoover Dam – This amazing engineering feat is a short car ride away from Las Vegas, and definitely worth a trip if you are looking for something to do other than gambling and shows.
Las Vegas Strip – Even those not interested in gambling will be amazed by the hotels and outdoor shows along the famous Strip. Here’s a quick guide to some of the highlights.
Red Rock Canyon – This nearby scenic area isn’t too well known, but it’s actually a gorgeous park only 30 minutes away from the Strip by car, so it makes for a great break in the action to take in some stunning views.
